Skanderborg Sø

Skanderborg Lake is a large and beautiful lake located in Søhøjlandet. The lake is part of the Gudenå system, and consists of several larger and smaller lakes, here among the two primary basins Sore sø and Hylke sø, as well as Ringkloster Lake, Vrold Lake and Taaning Lake.

The Skanderborg lakes have been a favorite excursion destination for both Danish and foreign competition and co-fishermen throughout the 90s and 00s. It was because the quantities of large roach and bream were huge. At the end of the zeros, the invasive hiking mussel also came to Skanderborg Lake, where the visibility of the water increased tremendously. This meant that perch and pike got good conditions, thus ending the exceptional co -fishing. However, Skanderborg Lake is still considered a good co -water, but is not considered to be one of Europe's best, as it once was. Among species of most angling value, pike, perch, zander, knot and lake trout are mentioned. Every year large pike are caught over 10 kg and perch over the kilo is not uncommon.

Large parts of Skanderborg Lake are privately owned, but much of it is rented out to the local angling association.
Fishing license can be acquired at a really reasonable price, and you can advantageously join the association.
